Please send any and all #TeamEitel related photos over to pics@teameitel.com.. I’m standing by to put them in our new image gallery to show the world the wonderful faces of all of the TeamEitel supporters and events.
These past 7.5 months have been quite the adventure, filled with positive learning experiences, a growing appreciation for something that I did not understand much of before, even with 7-8 years a IT Contractor supporting ‘it’ and a FREE (with time served) education on a topic I’ve always been interested in.? I’d be lying if I said that the thought of coming home to see my friends and family was not on my mind every single day (and sometimes for hours on end, especially while at RTC or standing some tedious watch or bogus field days). Those thoughts keep me motivated; to do my best, to be happy and at peace while serving on active duty. And I have had it easy here and so far in my early, while late, navy career, with phone and computer access, decent food, a routine schedule, an amazing track and gym, the beach nearby and a liberty policy catering to adults (which was not always the case).? I couldn’t be happier with my decision and commitment to enlist last year.? It’s taught me so much, but I’ll spare the details for now as we’re all hopefully here for this final point.
The 2016 #TeamEitel party! July, 23, 2016. It will be hosted at the same location as years past. I’m hoping to lock down Granfalloons to support an after party as has become tradition. I hope everyone will be able to come out, even if just for a bit to say hello. I know we’re going to miss a few of you, due to scheduling and I’m sorry about that. Last year served as sort of a “going away” party, this will be a bit of a “home coming” for me. So I’d personally appreciate everyone able to stop by, take a dip in the pool and enjoy the day.
I know the majority of you are still on fbook, but I gave up on it, so if you could share this link and let people know about this event I would greatly appreciate it. I’ll post more updates on this site and I I have a few very special people I can count on to share any updates (MOMMA BEAR, TIFFER, JESSICA, ANDY, etc) via facebook as needed.
All for now:
All my love,
J.D.
This will be short and sweet as I wanted (needed, really) to get an update out ASAP! I’ve been extremely busy the last few months, being isolated can do that to you (RTC especially and figuring out life at IADT) Alas, it’s all for the best! Have no fear, my intentions for #TeamEitel 2016 are as titled, to be and live bigger, better, healthier and happier! More to come, please sign up for #TeamEitel when you have a moment and join us in our mission to raise awareness and donations in the pursuit of a cure for cancer.

So, you aren’t a fan of this glorious beard you say? Well it may be your lucky day. For the next two weeks Ill be tracking all donations to TeamEitel’s 2015 #leukemiaandlymphomasociety #lightthenight Campaign and the individual who donates the most OR has the most donated in their name will be able to shave it off themselves! So head on over to the TeamEitel’s LLS page via www.TeamEitel.com (or direct at http://pages.lightthenight.org/cpa/YorkPA15/jeitel) and get to kicking some cancer booty! Good luck 😉 #TeamEitel #fCancer #kcfc #lls #ltn #tamethemane #ends20150621 #thatsjunetwentyfirst
Friends,
One of my goals for 2015 is to make #TeamEitel better. Not with the amount of funds raised, that’s always a personal goal, but what TeamEitel can do as a group, community, service and resource. Ideas like more events, or more information pertaining to drugs, research, stories, or other types of events TeamEitel should host are types of recommendations we are looking for. What types of events would you like to see us get together or involved with? What type of information do you need to get involved or share to your coworkers, friends and family? TeamEitel will continue to operate as a primary local team for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s annual; Light the Night Walk event and I encourage anyone to join TeamEitel or create your own team. With that said it is my goal to branch out from just TeamEitel and LLS and support as many credible causes and individuals that we can. For example, I’ve signed up for a 200km+ ride in June to support a Canadian Cancer Centre and I plan to continue routinely giving blood.
So, I’m reaching out to all of you and would appreciate any and all feedback regarding how #TeamEitel can improve and build as a community. I’m set to do big things in 2015 and with your help and suggestions it would elevate my ability to provide more people with needed information that I may currently be missing.
Thank you
The man behind my motivation for the 200km ride to conquer cancer and so much more. My dad was a BEAST, just look at him, what a stud. Thanks for the good genes pops, I?m not sure I?ll go the short shorts route anytime soon, maybe after my training that will be accepted, we?ll see haha. An educator, a life saver, an innovator, a father, a friend; compassionate and humble. The man led a life full of passion and purpose, something that I feel so many have trouble with. I?ve dedicated every day of the last few years to living and being with passion and a purpose. I?ve learned that creating a positive environment and mentality is habitual, it brings about a consistent peace and gives purpose. I?ve learned to accept and embrace my emotions, experience them and let them go, to live in the moment, in the now. One of the biggest lessons I learned was to let go of my expectations of the world, set goals but don?t stay so bound to them that you stress yourself into negativity, life does not go as planned, the only expectations you should have are of yourself, be who and what you say you are, follow through. Step outside and off your smart phone, disconnect – unsubscribe to these force fed lists telling you what life, relationships and experiences are and go experience them for yourself. Create your own journey. I?m excited to see where my cyclocross journey takes me. However with snow on the ground, I?m taking out the mtb.
Cheers!
